Course Description

In today's world of increased globalization and the free movement of people across borders, there is now an increased emphasis on the importance of quality interpersonal communication. Intercultural communication skills are becoming more important than ever. New employees arriving within the workplace need to quickly adjust and integrate in order for employers to obtain their full productive potential. Employees want to hit the ground running when being employed within a different cultural background. Doing so reduces stress on the employee, allowing them to become integrated far quicker and reaching their full productive potential far sooner.

The United Kingdom is a modern industrial economy with a strong maritime past which is in the process of departing the European Union. Being Europe's largest island nation, The United Kingdom has its own unique cultural traits, both socially and within the business environment. Failure to comprehend these cultural traits can lead to misunderstanding which can cost a business time and money, and also lead to social confusion and isolation for individuals. This course therefore tries to address these problems by looking at how various cultures can effectively communicate and understand how and why certain British social and business practices have come to be. Full day intensive courses go even further by offering a complete geographical and historical overview of The United Kingdom which helps bring various cultural traits into context. With Britain looking to make its own global trade deals and accepting qualified personnel from beyond the EU after Brexit, now is a good time to begin learning its cultural traits to make the most of the new opportunities the United Kingdom will be offering in the future.

Whether you are a business within The United Kingdom with overseas employees, an overseas company wishing to do business within The United Kingdom, or an overseas individual looking to live and work in The United Kingdom, this course can be tailored to suit your requirements.
